ELLICOTTVILLE - A 60-year-old Conewango man and one of his two teenage passengers were killed in a two-car crash on Route 242 here Friday afternoon, according to the Ellicottville Town Police and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office.
Clinton C. Krivulka of Church Road was driving east on Route 242 when he apparently lost control of his vehicle about 3:30 p.m. The vehicle spun into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on with the west-bound vehicle driven by Henry N. Williams, 43, of Chaffee, according to police officials.
Krivulka and the 15-year-old who was in the back seat passenger section of his vehicle were both pronounced dead at the scene by Cattaraugus County Coroner Cleon Easton.
A 16-year-old boy who was in the front seat of the Krivulka vehicle was initially treated for a head injury at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and then transferred for further treatment at the Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo, according to officials.
Williams was not injured but a passenger in his vehicle was taken to Olean General Hospital for treatment of chest pains. Ellicottville Police were assisted at the scene by the county sheriff's office, the State Police collision reconstruction unit and the Ellicottville and West Valley fire departments.
The cause of the accidents remained under investigation Saturday.
