Kenmore man sentenced for possessing meth with intent to distribute

A Kenmore man Friday was sent sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for possessing methamphetamine with the intention of distributing the illegal narcotic.

John McNeill, 57, former owner of Mixology Bar on Forest Avenue in Buffalo received large shipments of the drug from a source in San Diego, Calif., according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas S. Duskiewicz, who handled the case.

A package containing 1/4 kilogram of methamphetamine, with a street value of about $38,000, was  sent to McNeill  and intercepted by law enforcement officers on Sept. 5, 2014.

McNeill was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Frank P. Geraci Jr. The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Cheektowaga Police Department and the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Police.
