Roughly two years after filing for bankruptcy, Wet Seal is closing all 171 of its stores, including its locations at Walden Galleria And McKinley Mall.
Liquidation sales have begun at stores. Closing dates have not been announced, but the person answering the phone at McKinley Mall said its store would close Sunday. A staff member at Walden Galleria said the store would close when it was out of inventory, which would likely be in about two weeks.
The company had been unable to find investors or a buyer after filing for bankruptcy protection in 2015. It's one of many teen brands that have faltered over the years as shopping malls have struggled to regain their footing, such as Aeropostale, American Apparel and Pacific Sunwear.
