XAVIER - Shamantha Naomi (nee Nesarajah) It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Shamantha Naomi Xavier of Brookline, Massachusetts on January 23, 2017. Surrounded by loved ones, Shamantha left us peacefully after a courageous battle that she approached with unwavering grace, dignity, and humor. Her generosity and ready smile always shone through, and the kindness and selflessness that embodied her soul and touched everyone around her will always be remembered. Born on November 16, 1966, Shamantha grew up in Buffalo, NY. She was an avid lover of the arts and meticulous in her own creative endeavors in design with a keen eye for perfection. She was the loving wife of Ramnik Xavier, beloved daughter of the late Moses Nesarajah and Subitha, sister of Rohan and sister-in-law of Shenuka, cherished aunt to Shamara, daughter-in-law of Emmanuel Paul (Vimal) and Rohini Xavier, sister-in-law of Dhiren and his wife Sountha, Niraj, Niranthi and her husband Arunakumaren, and Amirthi and her husband Sathyendra, and the beloved niece of the late Dr Christy Karunairatnam, the late Ebenezer Selvaratnam, the late Kiruba Paramananthan, Shanti Handy, the late Harry Devasagayam, and Mano Devasagayam. The family will receive relatives and friends at Lehman, Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave, Brighton, MA 02135 from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, January 25. A funeral service will be held at the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, 28 Commonwealth Ave, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 at 10 am on Thursday, January 26. On Friday, January 27, a memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 711 Niagara Falls Blvd, Buffalo, NY14226 at 11:30 am, followed by burial at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14209. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor (Shamantha Xavier) can be made to Massachusetts General Hospital, c/o MGH Development Office, 125 Nashua St., Ste. 540, Boston, MA 02114-1101.
