CENTURY PLUS – Nine centenarians will collectively celebrate their birthdays with cake, gifts and visits from relatives at a party Thursday afternoon at the Brothers of Mercy Campus, 10570 Bergtold Road, Clarence.
The oldest was born a few weeks after Woodrow Wilson was elected president in 1912. The youngest just turned 100 on Tuesday. All are residents of the Skilled Nursing Facility at Brothers of Mercy.

PASTA TIME – Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 77, will host a Spaghetti Night from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Tonawanda Senior Citizen Center, 35 Main St., City of Tonawanda. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children. Proceeds benefit the Peter Tycz Scholarship Fund.

HERE’S THE BEEF – The Polish Falcons Society of Depew will hold a meat raffle Saturday evening in Polish Falcons Hall, 445 Columbia Ave., Depew. Doors open at 6 p.m. Raffles begin at 7.
Admission is $5 and includes beer, wine, pop, snacks and door prizes. Pizza slices will be available for purchase. Table reservations are accepted for groups of eight of more persons. Call 684-2373.

St. Jude the Apostle Church in North Tonawanda is sponsoring a meat raffle Sunday afternoon in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 755 Erie Ave., North Tonawanda.

Heart of Niagara hosts a Taste of the Niagara Region on Satuirday afternoon.

BON APPETIT – Nearly two dozen area restaurants will be serving up treats as Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue holds its fifth annual Heart to Heart Taste of the Niagara Region from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Conference and Event Center, 101 Old Falls St., Niagara Falls. There also will be a basket auction and live music by the Caribbean Extravaganza.

CALLING TRAINERS – Daemen College is offering a free program for local fitness trainers and wellness instructors to show them how to modify exercise programs to make them more available to people with disabilities.
“Inclusive Fitness: Working with Individuals with Disabilities in the Community” will be offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 11 in Rooms 105 and 177 in Daemen’s Academic and Wellness Center, 4433 Main St., Amherst, just up the street from the main campus in a building that formerly was a branch of YMCA Buffalo Niagara.
The program, designed for new and experienced fitness professionals, will cover disability awareness, nutrition, yoga, fitness facility design and how to market an inclusive fitness program. Instructors will include nurse practitioners, physical therapists, athletic trainers and fitness instructors.
All participants will receive certificates of completion. Those who are certified will be eligible for National Strength and Conditioning Association-approved Continuing Education Units. For more info and to register, call Theresa Kolodziej at 839-8412 or email
The program is part of a two-phase project on developing fitness opportunities for people with disabilities. It is funded by a $50,000 Inclusive Fitness Field-Related Grant from the New York State Developmental Disabilities Council.
