Black Market Food Truck's run is over; catering in future

The Black Market Food Truck, the mobile starter kitchen for downtown restaurant Marble + Rye, has ended its run.

The truck will become Marble + Rye’s mobile catering platform, owners Michael Dimmer and Christian Willmott said in a statement.

“We’ve always loved being a part of people’s parties and events, and turning the BMFT into a mobile kitchen is a great way to bring the M+R experience to people’s homes,” Dimmer said.

Introduced in 2013, the truck’s menu of arancini, sandwiches and more made it a crowd favorite. It also helped its owners build an audience and skills that became a restaurant.

Now the truck will be available for events, with a cocktail component possible, Dimmer said. The truck is being renovated, with the addition of a plancha, and will be available in the spring.
