The Orleans County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a 20-year-old driver who was killed in a two-car collision Sunday in the Town of Kendall.
Rebekah M. Hoak, of Holley, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 1:53 p.m. at the intersection of Route 18 and Norway Road, according to authorities.
Fog may have been a factor in the collision, according to the sheriff's office.
A preliminary investigation of the incident found that Hoak's vehicle was traveling north on Norway Road when it failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign, authorities said. Her vehicle struck another that was traveling west on Route 18.
A passenger in Hoak's vehicle, Sarah S. Lusk, 19, also of Holley, was injured in the crash and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, authorities said. She was listed in satisfactory condition.
The extent of Lusk's injuries was not released. The driver of the other vehicle, Richard E. Millard Jr., 56, of Kendall, also was transported to Strong Memorial, where he was treated and released, according to authorities.
The accident remained under investigation by the sheriff's office late Monday.
