Niagara Falls police have identified the alleged driver of a vehicle that allegedly struck and severely injured a 19-year-old bicyclist Thursday on Ontario Avenue, before leaving the scene of the accident, police said.
Ronald W. Harrison, 61, of Niagara Falls, was charged Monday with a single count of leaving the scene of a serious injury accident, a felony, according to authorities.
Harrison will be arraigned in Niagara Falls City Court at 9 a.m., said Capt. Angela Munn of the department's traffic division.
The bicyclist, Calvin Crogan, continued to be treated for a serious head injury at Erie County Medical Center, where he was taken after the incident, authorities said.
The Niagara Falls Police Department Crash Management team responded to the scene before 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The charcoal-color 2003 Hyundai Sonata involved in the accident was also recovered, police said.
