United Airlines flights resume after IT issue causes flights to be grounded

United Airlines has lifted its ground stop on all domestic flights, nearly an hour after the airline tweeted that flights were ground due to a technical issue.

U.S. officials told NBC News that the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System, or ACARS, was having issues with low bandwidth.

There is one local United flight affected, according to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport website. Flight 4254 from Newark to Buffalo is delayed.

A passenger in the United terminal in Newark Liberty International Airport tweeted this video of the chaos there.
