Buffalo house fire leaves 8 homeless

A small residential fire on Buffalo's East Side left four adults and eight children temporarily homeless Saturday afternoon.

The fire at 310 Sobieski St. started around 1:17 p.m. and originated within a second-floor wall, according to Buffalo fire dispatchers. The fire caused an estimated $4,000 in damage to the 2 1/2 story wood-frame structure and $1,000 in damage to the contents. The residents of the house are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
