Town of Lockport receives state bridge repair grant

LOCKPORT - The Town of Lockport has received a $213,000 state grant to pay for the repair of a bridge on Snyder Drive over Donner Creek, Town Supervisor Mark C. Crocker said Thursday.

The grant from the Department of Transportation is for the only one of three town projects for which the DOT approved funding. Bids for the contract are to be sought this summer, and the work should be done by this fall, according to a memo from Town Engineer Robert D. Klavoon.

Crocker said the town will have to come up with its own money for planned culvert replacements on Locust Street Extension and Old Saunders Settlement Road, which the DOT declined to pay for.
