Buffalo officers tried to pull over a driver in the Riverside area Wednesday evening for a loud exhaust system, but he sped off and led them on a high speed chase through the city with speeds exceeding 100 mph, Buffalo police reported.
Officers tried to pull him over at Ontario Street and Beatrice Avenue at about 7:30 p.m., but were not able to said stop until he reached a Moselle Street home on the East Side. The motorist drove erratically through several red lights, wove through traffic at high speeds and on the wrong side of streets, police said.
Derrick Arroyo, 24, was arrested and charged with a felony count of first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, obstructing governmental administration and nearly two-dozen vehicle and traffic infractions.
He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.
