The Buffalo Preservation Board, fresh off a heated meeting a week ago, has scheduled a new public hearing early next month over Ciminelli Real Estate Corp.’s controversial project proposed for Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway.
The board will hold a special public hearing at Lafayette High School, at 370 Lafayette Avenue, at 6 p.m. Thursday Feb. 2. The subject will be Ciminelli’s application to demolish all or parts of 10 properties on Ashland, Elmwood and Potomac avenues, as part of its plan to construct a pair of four- and five-story mixed-use residential and retail buildings, dubbed Arbor + Reverie.
Separately, the board at its regular meeting on Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. will consider a landmark nomination to create the Elmwood Historic District, including 141 Bidwell Parkway, 936, 976 and 982 Elmwood and 608, 610 and 616 Potomac. Two of those Elmwood properties are included in Ciminelli’s demolition plans.
