UNYTS, citing a need for donors, is urging residents to give blood for area hospitals because of increased demand.
The organization is the primary supplier of blood products to Kaleida Health, Erie County Medical Center, and hospitals in Niagara and Wyoming counties, according to UNYTS. O negative and platelet donors are especially needed, an official reported.
Potential donors can call 512-7940 or visit www.unyts.org to make an apointment.
Some of the locations to donate this week include: Jan. 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 110 Broadway Neighborhood Blood Donation Center, and 1 to 8 p.m., Tonawanda Neighborhood Blood Donation Center; Jan. 20, 7 a.m. to noon, Southgate Plaza and Eastern Hills Mall Neighborhood Blood Donation Centers; and Jan. 21, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Southgate Plaza and Eastern Hills Mall Neighborhood Blood Donation Centers.
