A first fight has been set on the card for UFC 210 in Buffalo.
On Thursday Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that Chris Weidman, a former UFC middleweight champion and currently the fourth-ranked middleweight in the world, will take on fifth-ranked Gegard Mousasi on April 8 at KeyBank Center.
Weidman is a 32-year-old native of Baldwin of Long Island's Nassau County. He was a two-time All-American wrestler at Hofstra.
Mousasi has been calling for a fight with Weidman, who held the middleweight crown for more than two years after defeating Brazil's Anderson Silva. Mousasi has won four straight fights.

The April visit by UFC is just the second time that mixed martial arts event has been held in Buffalo -- the first was at the Memorial Auditorium in 1995.
Mixed martial arts events were not permitted in New York State until 2016. UFC held an event at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 12. UFC 208 will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
