Buffalo couple arrested in heroin case in Town of Holland

A Buffalo man who ran into the woods after a traffic stop on Route 16 in the Town of Holland and his female passenger were arrested by Erie County sheriff deputies late Wednesday night, Sheriff Timothy B. Howard said Thursday.

Jamie Wilson, 47, and Jenna Shoup, 26, also of Buffalo, were arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance about 11:20 p.m., the sheriff said. Wilson was chased into the nearby woods where he could be seen tossing out packages that proved to be heroin, according to the sheriff. A sheriff's K9 unit found the packages in the woods.

Wilson was also charged with destroying physical evidence, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and a number of vehicle and traffic infractions. Both remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Thursday night.
