Robbery suspect nabbed a month after $2,600 theft

Darnell Carson, 43, of Davison Avenue was arrested Tuesday and accused of beating and robbing a  man at the intersection of Broadway and Mill Street on the night of Dec. 1, Buffalo police said.

Police said Carson stole $2,600 that the victim had withdrawn from his bank account earlier on Dec. 1 as well as the victim's $500 smart phone at about 8:30 p.m., according to a police records.

The victim was hospitalized at the Erie County Medical Center for nearly a day.

Buffalo police took Carson into custody at his home about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday and he was charged with first-degree robbery.

Carson remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Tuesday night.
