MILLER, Jeannette June (Eberl)

MILLER - Jeannette June (nee Eberl) Age 92, of High Point, NC passed away on December 25, 2016 in High Point, NC. A private family interment service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cheektowaga, NY. Jeannette (June) was born in Buffalo, NY to George Mathias Eberl and Florence Elizabeth Stettler Eberl on June 1, 1924. She graduated Kensington High School in Buffalo, NY in 1942. During high school she taught piano lessons in her home and played piano in a dance band, Ten Men and a Girl. She married Daniel Jerome Miller on November 6, 1943 after meeting at a church dance. While her husband was deployed in Europe during World War II, she worked in a Curtis Wright airplane plant in Buffalo manufacturing P47 Thunderbolts, performing the wiring in the small spaces of the tail section. Following the War she worked at Greyhound Bus Lines for several years. She and her husband owned and operated several apartment buildings in Buffalo and she was land lady, painter, plumber, electrician, carpenter, brick mason, maid and de facto social worker to many during the several decades of her ownership. She never met a task she could not accomplish. She truly had a great "can do" spirit. In the 1970's she rose to department manager at JC Penny's and received many awards for her work. Following her retirement she lived in several communities from Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arizona and California. She enjoyed travel and being with friends and family. June is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, brothers James Joseph Eberl and Cyril Eberl and her parents.June is survived by her son, J. Keith Miller, MD of High Point and his wife Ellen. Grandchildren Bradley Daniel Miller of Raleigh, NC and Jessica Marie Miller Tyson and her husband David Charles Tyson of Washington, DC. Also remaining are several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pennybyrn at Maryfield, Taylor Village, 107 Penny Road, High Point, 27260. Condolences may be left in Cumby's online guestbook at
