CHARLOTTE – Slippery road conditions caused by inclement weather was pegged as the cause of a two-car crash Thursday in the town of Charlotte that injured five people, Chautauqua County sheriff’s officials reported.
Deputies reported that vehicles driven by Jeremiah J. Heckathorn, 22, of Fredonia and Carlos I. Rivera, 34, of Jamestown collided on Route 60 near Luce Road about 2:45 p.m.
Authorities reported that Heckathorn was unable to slow down on slippery roads and rear-ended Rivera’s vehicle, damaging both.
The two drivers and their combined three passengers were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital or WCA Hospital respectively for “further evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries,” authorities reported.
No charges were filed.
