A Buffalo woman faces drug charges after state troopers pulled over a vehicle she was riding in late Thursday night in the town of Elma and found she was allegedly concealing crack cocaine in a pack of cigarettes, State Police reported.
Troopers said about 11:40 p.m. Thursday, they stopped a 2004 Chevrolet Impala on Route 16 in Elma for driving across hazardous markings.
When they approached the car, troopers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to police reports.
Further investigation revealed the passenger, Tara Lynn Nixon, 28, had the crack cocaine stashed away in a cigarette pack, troopers said.
Nixon was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
She was arraigned in Elma Town Court and taken to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $10,000 bail.
