BROCTON – A Brocton woman faces methamphetamine and weapons charges after being arrested in her Ellicott Road home by Chautauqua County sheriff deputies and agents of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force about 5 p.m. Friday.
Jodie L. Denmead, 52, is being held in Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash or $60,000 property bail.
After Denmead was arrested on Dec. 15 in a petit larceny case, the task force obtained a search warrant for her vehicle and discovered a methamphetamine laboratory, including lab equipment and chemicals, authorities said.
Denmead, who faces an appearance in Brocton Town Court, is charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a stun gun) and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale.
Westfield Village Police assisted in the investigation.
Officials of the drug task force urge anyone seeing suspicious or narcotics-related activity in their community to call either 1-800-344-8702 or 383-0313.
