LOCKPORT -- The Kenan Center kicks off its 50th Anniversary celebration with an exhibit of the works of five area women artists on Jan. 8 to pay tribute to Alice Pomroy Kenan.

The exhibit opens with a public reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 8 in the Kenan House Gallery, 433 Locust St., Lockport.
Kenan was the wife of William R. Kenan, Jr., a wealthy Lockport businessman and philanthropist, who left his 25-acre estate to be developed as a community center.
The exhibit continues through Feb. 12. The gallery is open noon to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It will be closed Jan. 16 and Feb. 11.
