Gilmore in concussion protocol, likely to miss finale ahead of free agency

Bills coach Rex Ryan said Monday that cornerback Stephon Gilmore was still in concussion protocol. He didn’t have any other injury updates.

The injury makes Gilmore unlikely to play in Sunday's finale against the Jets. That means Saturday's loss to Miami could’ve been his final game for the Bills, as his rookie contract expires after this season.

Gilmore said last week that there hasn't been any progress lately on contract negotiations because he didn’t want to worry about that during the season.

“You just don’t know what’s going to happen,” he said of his future. “You got to be prepared for whatever.”

Gilmore, the 10th overall pick of the 2012 draft, is expected to seek a contract ranking near the top of the league at his position. His fifth-year option paid him over $11 million this season.
