Buffalo police officers arrested the mother of a four-year-old at early Thursday after a woman complained she heard a child in an upper apartment in the 1800 block of Seneca Street.
Soo Laine Erving, 34, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police found the child at 3:15 a.m. locked in a back bedroom of the Seneca Street house and had to force open the door.
Police had located Erving, who stated her child was staying at a Wyoming Avenue address, and was under supervision. When officers checked the address, the child was not there.
Police eventually met Erving at her upper apartment, where she allowed them to enter.
