Paladino’s racist comments should eject him from board
As a parent and stakeholder in the Buffalo Public School District, I am writing to rally support for the immediate removal of Carl Paladino from our School Board. Although duly elected, his most recent public stunt, published in Artvoice last week, shows that he has not abided by the School Board members’ code of conduct, in which all members have vowed to “remember always that my first and greatest concern must be the educational welfare of the students attending the public schools” (by-law #1311, adopted 2002).
Paladino’s inflammatory, violent, racist and disgusting remarks regarding President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and senior presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett cannot stand. This hate speech represents exactly the type of rhetoric and intolerance we are teaching our children to resist. Our children and families deserve to have leaders who work to uplift our communities, not embarrass and disgrace them. Let’s work together to remove Paladino from our School Board and show our children we love and care for them and their future.
