A nine-foot tall menorah will be on display at Canalside starting Saturday in celebration of the Jewish holiday Hanukkah, which starts Saturday at sundown and continues for eight days.
At 8 p.m. Tuesday, the Chabad of Buffalo will celebrate the "Festival of Chanukah" with a parade of cars adorned with custom designed flags popularizing. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. at the Knesset Center, 500 Starin Avenue then proceed to Canalside for the lighting of the menorah, music and dancing.
In addition to the Hanukkah activities, there will be extended skate hours at The Ice at Canalside presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York during the holiday season:
- Saturday – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday – 4 to 8 p.m.
- Monday through Saturday, Dec. 31 – 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Jan. 1 and Jan. 2 – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
