Man arrested for thefts of expensive bikes

A Fernhill Avenue man was taken into custody at his home at about 9 p.m. Monday, in connection with the alleged theft of bikes from a garage over the summer, according to Buffalo police.

Daquan A. Jones, 21, was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, according to police.

The bikes -- a Yamaha Quad dirt bike, a JR50 dirt bike and a mini bike -- were taken from a Baitz Avenue garage on June 28, according to police.

The bikes were worth a combined $2,700, according to police.

Jones remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Tuesday night. An investigation is continuing.
