BPO Holiday Pops was wonderful show
Instead of singing “fall on your knees,” I fell flat on my back post-Holiday Pops Saturday night, landing in a puddle of slush, ice and snow. I was quickly assisted by kind-hearted people who picked me up and escorted me to my car. I was very lucky.
Maestro John Morris Russell assembled a most unique show. Soloists came from the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and guest soloists. The Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus was featured. The music reflected many moods, memories, a Hanukkah folk song, bells, carillons and more bells. The chorus enjoyed the percussionists in their usual marathon mode. The chorus was well prepared in diction, expression, passion, feeling and merriment under Adam Luebke’s direction.
Buffalo is filled with caring people. I’m most grateful to those who helped me.
