NIAGARA FALLS - A vacant Ashland Avenue home will likely be demolished after a fire Tuesday morning, according to the Niagara Falls Fire Department.
The blaze at 1330 Ashland, reported at 5:16 a.m., also damaged an adjacent home at 1328 Ashland, thought its occupants were allowed to return after the fire.
It took firefighters some time to find a functional hydrant in order to fight the fire. One hydrant in the area was frozen and another had unspecified problems, the fire department said.
A damage estimate was unavailable for 1328 Ashland.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
