A man and a woman were arrested on drug charges as Buffalo police officers responded to a suspicious persons call late Sunday afternoon in the 2200 block of Elmwood Avenue, according to Buffalo police.
Apprehended were Ryan Clark, 27, of Irving Terrace, and Rachel B. Szwed, 23, of Minden Drive, according to an arrest report. Police alleged Clark had a hypodermic needle containing heroin and Szwed had 24 bags of heroin and seven hypodermic needles in her purse.
Both were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of hypodermic instruments, according to police. They remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Monday night.
