America must investigate extent of Russian hacking
The Russian government’s blatant and unprecedented interference with our recent presidential and congressional elections – confirmed by every U.S. intelligence agency – is shocking. President-elect Donald Trump’s “curious,” stubborn refusal to accept that consensus assessment constitutes, as a bare minimum, a matter of grave concern for all Americans.
Moreover, Trump’s business dealings with Russia (and those of at least one of his Cabinet appointees) raise bona fide suspicions that he may have been directly complicit with (in addition to “merely” publicly encouraging) that country’s hacking of Democratic National Committee and (just revealed) Pentagon email servers. This serious matter warrants a thorough investigation by an unimpeachably impartial government committee – not just congressional Republicans.
