Free ice skating at two Niagara Falls parks

NIAGARA FALLS – The outdoor ice skating rink at Deveaux Woods State Park is now open and Reservoir State Park should be open within the week, according to an announcement by New York State Parks.

Both parks are free and open to the public. Skate rentals are not available and hockey is prohibited because it ruins the ice surface.

Both rinks are open (or soon will be open) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Deveaux Woods State Park, located at 3180 Deveaux Wood Drive, was created as a partnership between the City of Niagara Falls and the Niagara Region of New York State Parks.

The Reservoir rink in Reservoir State Park at Military and Witmer roads, was built during the reconstruction of the park that was completed by the New York Power Authority. When the rink at the Reservoir is closed, the Winter Pavilion will close at dusk.
