Winter weather advisory issued for freezing rain

The National Weather Service on Saturday issued a winter weather advisory for freezing rain in effect from midnight until 7 a.m. Sunday for most of Western New York.

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing shortly after midnight, resulting in slippery travel on untreated surfaces. The freezing rain will change to snow before ending early Sunday morning.

Ice accumulation of a tenth of an inch or less and less than an inch of snow are expected.
