Two-time drunken driver goes to state prison

LOCKPORT - Kevin B. Penvose of North Tonawanda, who was arrested on a felony driving while intoxicated charge while on probation for an earlier felony DWI, was sent to state prison Friday.

Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon ordered a concurrent sentence of 16 months to four years for Penvose, 56, of Seventh Avenue. He was on probation for a 2014 felony DWI when he was arrested July 29 in North Tonawanda.

Sheldon said she would ask that Penvose be assigned to a prison that has a good problem for him to try to beat his alcohol addiction. Defense attorney Patrick McLaughlin said Penvose knows he can never drink again.
