Teacher injured breaking up fight at Falls school

NIAGARA FALLS -  A teacher received 30 stitches to his face when he was injured while attempting to break up a fight Wednesday morning  between two male students at Gaskill Preparatory School, Niagara Falls police said.

The victim,  63,  was teaching  a class about 10 a.m. when the two students began to fight, according to reports.

Although the teacher managed to  separate the two initially, he was shoved when the combatants attempted to resume the fight, and struck his face on a shelf as he fell to the floor, police said.

The teacher received hospital treatment.  The police Juvenile Division is continuing to investigate.
