TOWN OF LOCKPORT – Police arrested two women suspected of using a credit card they found in an automated teller machine to go on a shopping spree.
Niagara County Sheriff's deputies said a Robinson Road woman accidentally left the card at the ATM following a transaction, and by the time she realized it was missing, three purchases were made at the Walmart on South Transit Road.
Investigators worked with store security to identify the two suspects and also recovered several packages of Christmas lights bought with the card, deputies said.
Amy J. Nicpon, 51, of Old Beattie Road, and Lindsey Sandy, 27, of Dysinger Road, were charged each with felony counts of second-degree identity theft, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and fifth-degree conspiracy.
Both were jailed pending Lockport Town Court appearances.
