Lockport man indicted on felony contempt charge

LOCKPORT - A City of Lockport man who was released from state prison Sept. 7 after serving time for two burglaries is back in trouble with the law.

Lanique J. Taylor, 41, of Cottage Street, pleaded not guilty in Niagara County Court Tuesday to an indictment charging him with first-degree criminal contempt. He allegedly violated an order of protection obtained by the mother of his 2 1/2-year-old child by pounding on her door while reportedly armed with a knife on Oct. 31 in Lockport.

Taylor had jut completed parole violation time in Attica Correctional Facility for a 2006 burglary conviction that brought him a seven-year sentence. Judge Matthew J. Murphy III set Taylor's bail at $50,000.
