Dec. 5-17 – Beaver Island, West River Parkway, Strawberry Island and Motor Island waterfowl blinds will be available through call in only at 773-2010 from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Fridays.


Dec. 14 – Niagara County Federation of Conservation Club’s annual Christmas party meeting, held this year at the Hartland Conservationists Club, Orangeport Road, Gasport  starting at 7 p.m. Bring a dish to pass.

Dec. 15 – Lake Erie Chapter of the International Federation of Fly Fishers will be holding its December meeting at the American Legion Post 735 on Legion Drive, West Seneca starting at 6 p.m. There will be an installation of new officers. For more info call 675-4766.

Dec. 17 – Winter Wildlife Snowshoe Walk at Reinstein Woods, 93 Honorine Dr., Depew starting at 10:30 a.m. Snowshoe rental is $5.

Dec. 18 – Knox Farm Christmas Bird Count from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Call 549-10050 to register for the program.

Dec. 31 – Erie County Trappers Assn. will be sponsoring a free Fur Handling Seminar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Collins Conservation Club, 2633 Conger Road, Collins. Call 337-2556 for more information.


Dec. 31-Jan. 15 – Western Zone waterfowl season for ducks, coots and mergansers. Also Canada goose seasons for the South and West-Central areas. Check for more information.

Jan. 1, 2017 – Lake trout season opens in the lower Niagara River and Lake Ontario.

Jan. 7-8 – Niagara Frontier Gun Show at Hamburg Fairgrounds starting at 9 a.m. both days. Admission $7. For more information go to The Niagara County Pistol Permit office will be in attendance for any possible amendments for permit holders.

Jan. 8 – Start of the WNY 3-D Archery League Shoot at West Falls Conservation Club. Shoots will take place every Sunday at area clubs. For more information contact Ike Loretto at 803-9096.

Jan. 8 – Monthly shoot and meeting, Alabama Hunt Club, Lewiston Road, Alabama starting at 11 a.m. Black powder shoot.
