Fan voting open for the NWHL All-Star Game

The National Women's Hockey League announced details of its 2017 All-Star Weekend to be held at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex outside of Pittsburgh.

The event will start with a 4 p.m. skills showdown on Saturday, Feb. 11 with the All-Star Game at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12.

The All-Star Game will be played in a four-on-four format. Each team will have two goaltenders, four defenders and eight forwards.

Fans can vote for their All-Star Game selections online at NWHL.zone/allstar. Fan voting is open through 10 a.m., Jan. 4 and four players will be selected on the fan vote.

A select group of NWHL reporters will select two players, the four coaches will select four players while All-Star captains Amanda Kessel (New York Riveters) and Kelley Steadman (Buffalo Beauts) will select eight players each and draft their respective teams.

Tickets for both events go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at nwhl.zone/tickets.
