It's been 44 years since one of the most famous fights in Buffalo history.
The Sabres' Jim Schoenfeld and Boston's Wayne Cashman threw haymakers in the hallway Dec. 13, 1972. Schoenfeld hit Cashman into the Zamboni doors, and they crashed through the boards and battled off the rink in Memorial Auditorium.
The Sabres beat the Bruins, 7-3, but that was just the subplot. The game featured 154 penalty minutes, including 76 by the Sabres.
While the Cashman brawl was the most memorable, Schoenfeld also fought Bobby Orr. That, of course, led to more fights.
