Buffalo woman admits to shopping spree with stolen debit card

LOCKPORT - A Buffalo woman admitted Tuesday that she stole a debit card from a parked car and used it to go shopping at a store in Niagara Falls.

Leah R. Landman, 38, of Busti Avenue, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny and agreed to pay $1,140 in restitution after her release from state prison. In October, Landman was sentenced to one to three years behind bars in an Erie County burglary and fraud case.

When she returns to Niagara County Court March 1, Landman could have two to four years added onto that for Tuesday's guilty plea. She stole the debit card May 20 from a man's car outside Gold's Gym on Military Road in the Falls and ran up the shopping tab at a nearby Walgreens store. The restitution is to be paid to First Niagara Bank.
