Alleged Jamestown crack dealer arrested after short foot chase

JAMESTOWN -- Maiker  E. Anderson, 20,  was captured Wednesday after a short foot race with officers, Jamestown police reported.

Officers charged the  Jamestown man with possessing crack cocaine ready for street sales, Jamestown Police reported Thursday.

Officers attempted to check on Anderson as he was  walking down Foote about 5:45 p.m. chased him when he tried to run away. He was  charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and obstructing governmental administration.

Anderson was found to have three small packages of crack cocaine packaged for street sale and a large quantity of cash after the short foot chase, police officials said.  At his arraignment in Jamestown City Court he was ordered held at the Chautauqua County Jail in Mayville pending further court proceedings.
