Leonard Zotara, 94, veteran and accountant


Sept. 18, 1922 - Dec. 2, 2016

Leonard Zotara of Cheektowaga died Friday following a short illness. He was 94.

Born in Buffalo and long time East side resident, Mr. Zotara graduated from Emerson High School.

He served as Private First Class in the U.S. Army under General George S. Patton, and worked in Intelligence in the Air Force. Following his service he worked as an accountant.

Mr. Zotara was a lifelong Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan.

His wife, the former Dorothy M. Kujawa died in August 2012 and he is survived by a son Robert; daughter Cynthia Pierowicz and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cleveland Hill Chapel-Amigone Funeral Home, Inc., 569 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga.
