Two charged with weapons possession after officers notice lack of license plate

Elijah Feaster , 23, of North Parade Avenue and Jordan Hairston, 22, of Girard Street were arrested Tuesday morning on weapons and other charges after police noticed their vehicle lacked a front license plate.

Police officers on routine patrol at about 6 a.m. noticed a car in the parking lot of a store in the 2200 block of Bailey Avenue lacked a front license plate, as they walked to the parked vehicle driven by Hairston, it sped off and officers gave pursuit.

Police pursued the car through eight East Side streets and a portion of the Scajaquada Expressway, the car came to a stop on Cambridge and both men fled, throwing two handguns into a yard. Both were arrested in different back yards on Cornwall.

Police found the two handguns the two allegedly abandoned on East Delavan. Both also were the subjects of arrest warrants in both Buffalo City Court and Amherst Town Court.

Hairston was also found to have a suspended driver's license, according to an arrest report.

Both were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawfully fleeing police in a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and obstruction of governmental administration.

Hairston was also charged with numerous vehicle and traffic infractions.
