Buffalo man charged in brutal attack on store owner

A Stevenson Avenue man  is charged with the Nov. 20 attack on the owner of a store  in the 900 block of East Ferry Street who was  hit with a hammer and wooden table leg.

Chas D. Moore-Seymore, 29, is one of  five men who brutalized the store's owner, police said.  He also is the only attacker who has been arrested, they added.

Moore-Seymore, arrested Monday, is charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fifth-degree conspiracy and felony criminal trespass.

The victim was assaulted after and argument in which he asked the five to  leave the store, police said.  The five returned later and assaulted him, police added..

Moore-Seymore remained in custody in  Erie County Holding Center Wednesday.
