Culvert replacement project along Boston State Road nears completion

Work is nearly complete on a culvert replacement project in the Town of Boston aimed at addressing historic clogging and flooding issues, Erie County Public Works officials announced Monday.

The project is being undertaken on an underground culvert along Boston State Road that carries a tributary to Eighteen Mile Creek.

Replacement on the culvert began Oct. 25 and forced motorists to detour on Boston State Road from South Abbott Road to Herman Hill Road – a distance of about one mile.
