LOCKPORT - A man who entered a North Tonawanda woman's apartment, and ran away after awakening her, pleaded guilty Friday in Niagara County Court.
Judge Matthew J. Murphy III assigned Zion I. Brunson, 22, of Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment. He pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary for the Sept. 22 Ironton Street incident, for which he must pay $50 in restitution for damaging a window screen.
It was Brunson's second felony in as many years. He pleaded guilty last year to attempted robbery. If he fails to kick his drug addiction, Brunson risks as long as seven years in state prison. If he succeeds, the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor with a nonjail sentence.
