Author to discuss Niagara Falls in World War II

LOCKPORT - Michelle Ann Kratts, author of a new book called "Niagara Falls in World War II," will discuss the city's role in the war effort in a free talk at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Niagara History Center, 215 Niagara St., Lockport.

Kratts, a local historian and librarian at the Lewiston Public Library, will talk about how the Bell Aircraft plant turned out 30,000 planes for the U.S. armed forces, and will relate the stories of many Falls residents who served in uniform.

Kratts' book, published by the History Press, will be available for $21.99 at the History's Center's gift shop.
