Tree lighting at Seneca Niagara Casino set for Friday

NIAGARA FALLS - Seneca Niagara Casino and Old Falls Street USA will have a community celebration and tree lighting event at 5 p.m. Friday in Seneca Square, in front of the casino, 310 Fourth St.

The free  event will feature the lighting of a 35-foot blue spruce, along with a performance of "Silent Night" by the Niagara Catholic High School choir and the Buffalo Seminary "Semachords."

Hot cocoa and cookies will be offered after remarks by local dignitaries and the tree lighting.

Nearby activities will be offered by Old Falls Street USA, which will unveil it holiday decor, including a 24-foot Christmas tree, children's train and snowflake decorations. Free train rides will be available on Old Falls Street on Fridays through Sundays through Dec. 23.

The Niagara Falls Culinary Institute,  28 Old Falls St., also invites  visitors to its Gingerbread Wonderland.
