Soreness keeps Sammy Watkins out of Wednesday's Bills practice

The Bills expected receiver Sammy Watkins to practice in a limited capacity Wednesday, just like he did all last week after coming off injured reserve.

But after going through warmups, Watkins mentioned to trainers that his foot was feeling sore after Sunday's game. The trainers decided to not to risk it and kept him out of practice, the team said.

Watkins was officially listed as "did not participate" on Wednesday's injury report. He played 25 plays (45%) in the win over Jacksonville, catching three passes for 80 yards. He declined interview requests in the locker room after Wednesday's practice.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor was a full participant Wednesday but was also added to the injury report after practice with a sore groin. He said he picked up the ailment in Sunday's game.

Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus (abdomen) was a limited participant Wednesday while cornerback Ronald Darby remained in concussion protocol. Running back Mike Gillislee, who missed Sunday's game with a hamstring injury, practiced in a limited capacity.

Did not participate: WR Sammy Watkins (foot), WR Robert Woods (knee), WR Percy Harvin (illness/migraines), TE Charles Clay (knee), LT Cordy Glenn (back), CB Ronald Darby (concussion), S James Ihedigbo (ankle) and LB Lorenzo Alexander (ankle).

Limited: LG Richie Incognito (neck), RB Mike Gillislee (hamstring), LB Preston Brown (wrist), S Sergio Brown (hamstring), RG John Miller (shoulder), DT Marcell Dareus (abdominal).
